Fatigue won today

It was 6. I was in the back yard with a Sierra Nevada Porter and my little son.
About a month ago, my brother-in-law fell through the net around our trampoline. We finally had a replacement and I wanted to get it installed.
I was working my way around the circle, untying the ropes that linked the net to the trampoline.
I left my beer behind as I worked out the knots and was directly opposite it. My little son started screaming and wrapped himself around my legs. I don't know if he wanted a drink of beer (sometimes we give him tiny sips) or to be held. He was determined to get something because as I moved on to a new knot, he moved right along with me.
It was a lovely fall evening, complete with screams and unfulfilled desires.
When I got back to my beer, I picked it and my son up and went in to make dinner.
